P/O Vivian was the navigator in the crew of P/O E.F. Dowdell (RAF). The Lancaster of 1654 Conversion Unit, RAF Wigsley was shot down by a German night fighter and crashed at 02.22 hrs in the early morning of 14 September, 1942. The Lancaster came down in a field near the Buitenweg, Oudehorne. There were no survivors.
